Screening of ‘Unfreedom’ with post movie discussions|6.30pm|22 June|

UNFREEDOM, directed by Raj Amit Kumar, deals with questions of religious fundamentalism, homophobia, Islamophobia and violent extremism. Issues that are important to Indians and demands to be highlighted and discussed openly. A searing indictment of human rights violations, Unfreedom is a film that demands to be seen and discussed by people who support cinema that is both moving and motivating.

Unfreedom, the film, is a contemporary thriller directed by Raj Amit Kumar about a society torn apart by political, religious, and sexual turmoil. The film stars BAFTA nominee Victor Banerjee and Life of Pi’s Adil Hussain. Cinematography is by National award winner Hari Nair and sound design is by Oscar winner Resul Pookutty. Know more about the movie here:


Unfortunately, UNFREEDOM, has been refused a censor certificate in India, adding to what is becoming a very real barrier in India for creative expression. Under current circumstances, we are seeking your support to organize a screening event for UNFREEDOM. The screening will be followed by optional Q&A session personally or on Skype with director of the film.
