ಯಾವುದೇ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರದ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ನೀಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಈಗಿನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಚಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿದೆಯೇ?
ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳಿಂದ ಆಯಾಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀರುವ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳೇನು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಂತಹ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳು ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆಯೆ?
ಈ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲು ಪಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಲುಕಾಸ್ ನವಿತ (ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರು) ಮತ್ತು ರೋಬಿನ್ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಟೋಫರ್ (ವಕೀಲರು) ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
The Constitution provides us the right to freely practice religion under Article 25. In Karnataka’s present conditions, is there freedom to practise this right. 9 other states in India have ‘freedom of religion laws’. What has been the impact of these laws on ordinary individuals? Do these laws uphold the values imbued in the Constitution?
