MENTAL MANADHIL: RECLAIMING MADNESS CONVERSATIONS ON MENTAL HEALTH – THROUGH THEATRE OF THE OPPRESSED |17:30 16-SEP-2017
DATE: 16th September, 2017
TIME: 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
VENUE: Alternative Law Forum, #122/4, Infantry Road, Next to Balaji Art Gallery, Bangalore – 560001.
Event Description: This event is the ninth session in a series of “Conversations on Mental Health.” The series involves unpacking mental health, looking at alternative perspectives to mental health, alternative forms of healing, and mental health as relating to gender identity and sexuality. Through the course of these conversations, we aim to create an organic peer support group driven by the needs expressed in each session.
Over the past year, we have focused our energy on building a safe space to have open conversations on mental health and well-being. We welcome you to this month’s session in which we will explore Theatre of the Oppressed as a medium of facilitating conversation on mental health. The Centre for Community Dialogue and Change will be leading this session. To learn more about CCDC, their work and about TO, do check out their website: http://www.ccdc.in/
Theatre of the Oppressed requires no prior knowledge or experience of theatre to participate in, learn from and enjoy. It only requires enthusiasm and the willingness to try something new.
Bring along your ward, partner, friend or whoever you are a peer supporter for, or who plays the role of a peer supporter for you! This is an invitation for an evening of sharing stories, meaningful interaction and simply enjoying the space together.
We request you to kindly be at the venue by 5:30 pm, as we will require sufficient time to explore different TO games.
See you soon!
